2021 Karlovac Piano Festival

 


Karlovac Piano Festival Summer Piano School will take place in Karlovac Music School (click HERE for directions) from July 10th until July 15th, 2021. The lessons will begin in the morning on July 10th, and the closing concert is scheduled for July 15th at 7PM.

The final deadline for application is June 1st, 2021. Nonetheless, since our teachers are often booked already by the end of April / beginning od May, in order to secure your spot in the summer school you are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. The complete application should include:

Tuition per lesson:

Three private lessons are optimal. Considering that the teacher(s) of preference is/are still available, each participant is free to chose based on their own preference. Each lesson lasts 50 minutes. Additional lessons are possible but should be arranged prior the beginning of the festival (in certain situations additional lessons can be added during the festival). Each additional lesson is €130. If participant wishes to reserve more than 6 lessons, the tuition price will be established individually (depending on availability and the number of requested lessons).

IMPORTANT: Please note that your lessons with faculty will be reserved only after completing registration fee payment. Filled out application form itself does not affirm your participation in the festival.

In case if applied participant decides to cancel his/her participation in the festival, registration fee will be returned only if the organizer is informed on that matter no latter than 10th of June, 2021 (cancellation request needs to be sent directly to karlovacpianofestival@gmail.com).

Tuition needs to be paid in full via bank account transfer (the bank account info is listed bellow), latest by 30th of June, 2021. If the tuition is not paid by the above noted deadline, the applicant could loose his/her previously reserved lessons, and those lessons might be offered to other interested applicant(s). Based on previously arranged mutual agreement, teacher may possibly offer a special, discounted tuition price. The tuition coverage excludes accommodation and meals expenses.

Practice rooms with grand pianos will be available for all active participants. Every participant will have a minimum of 3 hours of reserved practicing time each day. Additional time will be available but will work on the principle; first come - first served. The music school owns relatively new Kawai and Yamaha grand pianos.

 

PIANO COMPETITION APPLICATION (The Karlovac International Piano Competition for 2021 is canceled due to Covid-19 issues)

The registration fee for COMPETITION participants:

Participants who wish to take part in BOTH summer school + competition need to deposit competition registration fee regardless of summer school registration/fees.

If you wish to participate in the piano competition, you will also need fill out a competition application form, send a pre-screening recording (by Internet link), e-mail your recent photo, etc. For all other competition rules and application details, please visit our competition page.

 

PASSIVE PARTICIPATION

Individual lessons, master-classes, and other festival events are open for all music enthusiasts. If you are interested being present as a passive participant, however, the registration fee in the amount of 400 kn (€55) is required. In order to receive a certified diploma (signed by the faculty members), passive participants are expected to attend a total of 16 school hours.
